SCHOOL VISITS NOW AVAILABLE AT SANCCOB
SANCCOB
is acutely aware that the children of today will be the leaders
of the future and we want to continue to play our part in ensuring
that they will take educated decisions regarding South Africa's
fragile natural heritage

We offer lectures to learners on oil spills, sea bird rehabilitation
and
nature conservation. After the lecture and a short video about the
infamous
Treasure oil spill, where almost 20 000 penguins were oiled and treated
at
SANCCOB, learners go outside and watch our Home Pen birds being fed.
Teachers are also able to choose a topic to fit into the curriculum
if they
wish. These visits are approximately one hour in length. If teachers
would
like the learners to remain longer, we also offer activities ranging
from
1/2 hour to 2 hours to complete. Lectures are available in English
and
Afrikaans, and teachers will receive additional information about
oil spills
and sea birds for further classroom work.
The cost is R15 per learner, with a maximum of
36 learners per group.
Teachers visit free with the class.
All visits must be booked through SANCCOB's
Education Officer:
Karen Müller
on 021-557-6155 or
via e-mail karen@sanccob.co.za
